About

Woven Ground

Step into a world of warmth and nostalgia with unique collections of handmade, recycled clothing. Each piece is carefully crafted with love and attention to detail, ensuring that you receive a one-of-a-kind garment.

Feeling and looking great should not mean compromising your values or ethics. Repurposing existing fabrics minimises waste, as well as reducing the production of fabric, a financially and environmentally expensive task. It is very satisfying to repurpose some of the beautiful fabrics already in circulation.

I love the thought of the fabrics holding stories in their fibres. In the cutting of the cloth and the crafting of a new piece, the energy held in those fibres is shifted, renewed, and primed: ready to hold more stories.

Woven Ground launches Spring 2024 with the Retreat Jacket, further collections to come....watch this space!

I am based in Bridport, West Dorset.

About Jo

Behind Woven Ground is Jo, seamstress, fabric hoarder, and colour enthusiast with a love for ancient history, audiobooks and sea swimming. She learned how to sew from her mother and grandmother, coming from a long line of crafters and makers.

Each handmade garment she produces brings her joy and she infuses her positive energy into the fabrics she lovingly recycles and upcycles. For Jo, sewing represents more than a hobby, it's where she finds her flow, and with Woven Ground, she embraces doing what she loves most - transforming forgotten fabric into something beautiful and useful.
